Portion Cup Lids — Snap-On Closures for Sauces and Sides
Portion cup lids are the snap-on covers paired with portion cups for sauce, dressing, and side service. Pair the lid material to the cup material and to the food temperature. For delivery operations where the cup ships upright in a to-go bag, leak resistance matters — snap-on lids work but only if the cup-to-lid pairing is tested for fit.

Match the size designation exactly — a 1oz lid fits 1oz cups, a 2oz lid fits 2oz cups, and so on. Even within a single size, lids from different vendors don't always interchange because the snap profile varies by 0.2–0.4mm. Order cups and lids from the same vendor when possible.
Should I use clear or vented portion cup lids?+
Clear (solid) lids are leak-resistant — used for sauces and dressings in to-go bags. Vented lids have a small slit for steam release and are used for hot condiment service (warm cheese sauce, etc.) where pressure buildup would pop a solid lid off.
Are portion cup lids microwave safe?+
PP (#5) lids are microwave safe up to ~230°F. PET (#1) and PS (#6) lids are not. Check the resin code on the lid before microwaving with the lid in place.
How are lids packaged for shipping?+
1500–2500 per case is typical for 1oz and 2oz sizes. Larger lids run 1000–1500 per case. Pallet-level density is comparable to cups themselves — order them together for cube-efficient shipping.
Are leak-resistant portion cup lids the same as airtight seals?+
No. Snap-on portion cup lids are leak-RESISTANT (designed for upright transit) but not airtight. For long-term storage or refrigerated meal prep with sealed lids, use heat-sealed deli containers or vacuum-pack containers instead.
